The Stone Lake - a place where my heart is drawn
I love road trips. Especially the "themed" ones. While I was still able to, I used to go with my friends around the Czech Republic and choose interesting locations and places. For the last few years, however, I've only been traveling with my finger on the map. I'm looking forward to going to interesting parts of our beautiful country again.
I have a few locations picked out that I would like to visit. The first place I would like to visit is very special and in a way, unique in the world. However, that is not the main reason why I want to go to this particular place. Before I tell you why I want to come here, let me tell you a short story.
We live on the outskirts of a small town. Behind us are basically just fields and the Elbe. Every so often, a feline friend wanders in. Some come just for food, others decide to adopt us. One day a little red cat came to us. He had a cut a few centimeters wide on his belly. It was hot and the wound was very inflamed and festering.
He was completely apathetic, so we went to the vet right away. However, due to an advanced infection, the wound could not be sutured. They basically just shaved his abdomen, disinfected it, and injected him with antibiotics. The prognosis wasn't very good and the wound didn't want to heal, even though I disinfected it several times a day. Then, luckily, I remembered I had a stone at home. Some of you may remember the white translucent stone that my grandfathers used to treat shaving wounds.
I bought it a few days before. Like I knew I'd need it soon. I grated some in water and poured the solution over the wound. Then I just stared in disbelief. The wound was healing literally before my eyes. Within an hour, the wound had noticeably closed up, the inflammation was fading fast and there was no sign of the festering deposits by the evening. After a week the cat was able to run. It was my first experience with this amazing mineral. Actually, it was a risk. There was nothing to go wrong. Either it would work or it wouldn't. Luckily it worked out well and I haven't let him go since. I treat all open wounds, fungus, acne, as well as poorly healing or swelling post-surgical scars with it.
A couple of years passed and I came across an article that there is a unique stone lake in our area. I can't wait to swim in it one day. I think I'll wait a few more years to take care of my mom. At least I have something to look forward to.
You, however, can visit this amazing aquatic gem this weekend. I will add that it is one of the largest lakes in the Czech Republic with a unique water composition that makes it almost devoid of life, so even the dreaded cyanobacteria or algae. In addition, it has many other beneficial effects. Not to mention the fast healing of wounds, it also prevents sweating and eliminates odors without disturbing the drainage of waste substances from the body. You can also use it to treat insect bites.
The whole complex with many different kinds of activities can be found near the centre of Chomutov. When you go there, remember me and share with us not only the experience, but also the impressions that this place has left in you. Well. In the meantime, I'll keep dreaming of my dream. ☺
Have a safe trip.
