You have probably heard more advice on this topic: healthy lifestyle, active rest, healthy diet, enough exposure to sunlight (vitamin D production), limiting stressful situations, etc.

First of all, I would like to point out that the title of my article may be a bit misleading because, in my opinion, fatigue is not something to be fought.

It doesn't help to say to yourself, "Just hang on a little longer!" When you're already at the end of your rope, such actions can be counterproductive. In short, when you reach a state of fatigue, rest, and relax, even passively, sleep is very important for your health.

Why is it so important to be able to rest? Lack of rest leads to deepening fatigue. Significant, and especially prolonged, stress can lead to anxiety, depression, disinterest in physical activity, and even mental exhaustion.

But what can we do so that we are not so tired? Learning how to prevent this is really necessary. Don't expect me to spill more proven advice here. The only thing I can pass on is what helps me (found in a few points below).

  1. Movement.

A regular walk in the fresh air is fine, but it's not always possible (e.g. due to worse weather, etc.).

I'm sure regular exercise is also fine, depending on everyone's individual needs and abilities, but I admit that I haven't gotten around to it yet, although it might help.

I have recently started practicing yoga, and I like the way the instructor leads it - to make the movement natural to everyone's capabilities, to enter the exercises slowly, and to have us feel and notice what is happening in our bodies as we do the exercises. After yoga, I felt relaxed and active in my body at the same time 😊.

As long as I'm not too tired yet, it helps to go for a run, or cross-country skiing in winter... all just for the pleasant feeling of endorphins, not beyond my current capabilities 🙂.

       2. A moment for myself.

Taking a moment for myself is, I would say, downright essential in preventing fatigue.

Everyone can use their moment as they perceive it will do them good.

Don't be afraid to pamper yourself, e.g. with a nice shower or bath to the sound of your favorite music.

I also like to spend time singing or reading and writing. For those who are apprehensive about singing, I recommend singing to yourself in the shower 😊. Writing, among other things, helps me sort out my thoughts, release excess mental tension.

It happens that I often find it difficult to find a moment for myself, but I guess that's common with young children.

       3. Smile.

They say that laughter prolongs life, and the joy shared is doubly so. That's why it's nice to take a moment for your loved ones and friends with a shared smile 😊.

In short, to devote ourselves to what makes us mutually happy and fulfilled. I would use it to play and sing together, watch an interesting or funny movie or play sports together.

When someone smiles at me, especially if I'm not feeling up to it, it's like a nice caress 😊.

       4. Good food.

And of the food, I personally enjoy warm cereal porridge. But I like pretty much everything 😀. When I can enjoy my food in peace, I feel better and it energizes me. I admit I have a sweet tooth - especially chocolate. But sometimes a little sin is necessary when you need to recharge your batteries 😀.

       5. What you can do today, don't put off until tomorrow.

Stressful situations can't always be avoided, but to reduce stress I recommend taking a lesson from the phrase, "What you can do today, don't put off until tomorrow." So that our worries don't pile up...

It depends a lot on what type of fatigue it is, whether it is physical or mental, or a combination of both.

When I'm tired after a physical exercise, it usually helps me to unwind with something calm.

On the other hand, after a mental strain, active rest often helps me.

When it comes to a combination, the best remedy, in my opinion, is really sleep.

I definitely can't say that I live a 100% healthy lifestyle, I just wanted to share a few of my observations. What advice would you give? What helps you personally?

For me, writing is an opportunity to express my thoughts, to immerse myself in the world of my characters, and it's also a moment for myself....
