The Bridgertons - Julia Quinn (review)
My dearest readers,
I have once again decided to review a book, actually books, since the series consists of several volumes. I have almost all of them that have been published so far, and I have to say that each of the Bridgerton novels has its own personal charm that is full of history.
What is this story actually about?
The story follows the esteemed Bridgerton family, where each of the siblings is faced with the task of finding a suitable mate. At some point, a time called the season arrives. At this time, various balls are held and each family belonging to the elite tries to find a suitable match.
My favourite so far is the 3rd episode, called The Inappropriate Proposal.
Once again, another of the Bridgerton brothers has to get married. His mother throws the first ball of the season, or more accurately a masquerade ball, where a very mysterious and beautiful woman appears and captivates Benedict Bridgerton. He immediately falls in love at first sight and dances with her almost all night. Does this remind you of the Cinderella story? Yes, the protagonist is enchanted by a mysterious woman who suddenly disappears...
Benedict Bridgerton immediately decides to find the girl. Will he succeed? Or will he forget about her completely and succumb to a girl named Sophie Beckett, who offers something that completely shocks Sophie. Why? And what is this offer?
You'll find out if you read the book.
These books have completely engrossed me to the point of surprising myself, which is why I give the volumes that have come out so far a well-deserved rating.
5 out of 5.
What I enjoy immensely about these books is the author's ability to completely draw the reader into the plot. To be honest, I'm a little envious of her writing style - it's so engaging that you just can't put the book down. On the contrary, you want to keep reading about the characters' fates in books that manage to both mildly irritate and delight you at the same time.
Which part did you like the most?
Write me. ☺ I'll be looking forward to it.
