Looking back to 2024
This year has meant a lot to me in my personal development. I attended yoga and later the Feldenkrais method, took a literature course, and continued to volunteer. I tried my hand at the ukulele, but in the end, I stuck to the guitar. I ran for part of the year, but then I stopped. More often than not, I dealt with various colds. I would like to incorporate running back into my days next year.
I have read some interesting books, certainly the humorous novel The Packer (Eduard Fiker), The Perch Manor (Madeleine Brent), Where the Crayfish Sing (Delia Owens), The Four Pranas of Happiness (Peter Casanova), The Man Who Planted Trees (Jean Giono) - this is about the third time I have read it, but with the same enthusiasm.
I visited the theatre only twice this year. The first time was at the Merry Fair, a children's puppet show with black theatre elements, and the second time at a play based on Karel Čapek - War with the Mlocks. I enjoyed both performances very much.
I was on a course that may fit my profession. And as of September 2024, I have partially returned to work as an occupational therapist. Although I was worried about whether I could handle the job after a long break, I think it has worked out nicely.
The summer before that was spent with family at cottages and my older daughter at a suburban sports camp. She was thrilled 😊. I think it was a good move then that we signed her up for a sports club over the school year as well. My younger daughter, on the other hand, attended a music and movement club, which she also really enjoyed.
I learned to divide my time between work, family, and friends.
We attended 2 weddings. Both were with a larger number of wedding guests. I remember ours, which was back in the "covid era" of 2020.
It was held in smaller numbers, but we wanted a small wedding, it had its charm and most importantly it was ours ♥️.
The year 2024 was full of experiences, but I would say I needed a lot of rest too. I wish I felt less tired next year. Regular exercise may contribute to that, which could be one of my New Year's resolutions.
And how was your year? Is there anything you would repeat next year? What would you rather skip?
