Hanka takes me home for the night to the box I slept in on my first day. She says it's so I won't be afraid and won't be cold.

At first, I was afraid that I would have to stay there all the time, and I tried to get out of the box because it is much smaller than the new beautiful enclosure. I jumped up and down and shouted angrily. Hanka explained to me that I didn't need to be afraid and that the box was only for the night. She said it might be cold outside. Also, one of the cats might bother me, which I probably wouldn't like very much.

I played around for a while, but eventually I let myself be persuaded.

The lamp warmed my feathers nicely, I made a comfortable little hollow in my bed, and a pleasant warmth began to spread through my body, so I soon began to doze off.

Just when I was sleeping so well, someone turned off the lamp. I immediately started yowling and didn't stop until the light came back on.

I know I may have overreacted a little, but at least they'll think twice next time. I slept like a log until morning.

The next morning it rained heavily, so I couldn't go to the new enclosure until the afternoon.

Then Franta came home from work and carried me there. It was great. I jumped into the water and enjoyed the sunshine. Swimming is completely different when you have so much space. I can also watch lots of things and listen to new sounds.

It's much better outside than in the house, where all I can see is the ceiling or some annoying fly flying around. Sometimes a cat's head appears over the edge of the enclosure.

The cats keep coming to admire my new home. I think they're jealous because they don't have one like mine. Then I deliberately show them how I can swim and how I can bask in the sun, and I'm not afraid of them at all because they can't reach me.

At least, I hope so. The evening move to the box went smoothly this time. For one thing,

I'm starting to get used to it, and for another, everyone has understood that I want to bask in the warmth all night, so they left the lamp on.

I hope it won't rain tomorrow and I'll be able to enjoy the sun all day long.
